What is a Yoga Ashram ?

It is a place for spiritual practice. It promotes self reflection and self control through very simple living and spiritual environment. An ashram is also a residential yoga school for learning and practicing yoga, meditation and yogic philosophies in the traditional way.

Why a Yoga Ashram ?

The facilities at an Ashram are basic and limited. This gives a chance to experience the traditional Indian culture and lifestyle, away fromwestern comforts and luxuries and promotes the idea to minimize the materialistic influences and dependencies.

Arhanta Yoga Ashram

Arhanta Yoga ashram gives yoga courses and training in a beautiful and peaceful location outside the ancient city of Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. The ashram is spread over 17 acres of lush green land and is surrounded with hills and farms (how to reach).

The serene and peaceful location of the ashram provides an ideal atmosphere for self reflection and practicing Yoga and meditation. At our ashram you can follow:

• Yoga teacher training courses (200 & 500 hours)

• Yoga vacations

• Yoga retreats

Apart from providing Yoga training and meditation courses Arhanta Yoga ashram also conducts various charitable projects from time to time. These project include:

• Organizing educational weeks for the poor children and women from nearby villages.

• Helping in digging and setting up of water wells in the poor villages.

• Organizing camps for vocational and practical training for poor villagers.

• Organizing charitable medical camps in the nearby villages.

Yoga Ashram Facilities

Accommodation

The accommodation is simple and comprises of single and double shared rooms with basic amenities like bed, blankets, sheets and pillow and a mosquito net. All rooms have attached bathrooms. All bathrooms are equipped with western toilet seats. As water is a precious good in India the bathrooms have cold shower facility, however hot water is available on request.

Meals

The dining room serves pure vegetarian meals. Even garlic and onion are not used in our kitchen. All the ingredients, vegetables and wheat used in our kitchen are produced in organic farms only. Total of three meals are provided: Breakfast, lunch, Dinner. Seasonal fruits are provided with breakfast and salad is provided with lunch / dinner. Herbal tea is provided in evening.

Water

We provide safe filtered drinking water (RO filtered) to all our students.

Ashram Boutique

Yoga items like Yoga mats, Meditation shawls, Meditation cushions, Meditation beads and toiletries are available for purchase at cost price.

Safe Keeping

Valuables can be stored at the reception.

Telephone

Limited telephone facility is available for making international / local calls.

Post

Mail facility is available at the ashram.

Medical Care

Assistance is available in case of emergency.
